In May 2008, we wrote an article on web stats applications and tools and we briefly talked about Crazy Egg, Compete, Google Analytics, SiteCounter and Clicky Web Analytics.

Over the past months, we’ve tried a few more applications and we would like to add some of them to the list:

Yahoo! Web Analytics

Yahoo! Web Analytics is a site analytics tool that provides real-time insight into visitor behavior on your website.

Keyword Spy

KeywordSpy is a keyword research tool that tells you which keywords work and which don’t by examining your competitor’s keywords.

Website Grader

Website Grader is a tool that measures the marketing effectiveness of a website. It provides a score that incorporates things like website traffic, SEO, social popularity and other technical factors. It also provides some basic advice on how the website can be improved from a marketing perspective.

W3Counter

W3Counter helps you identify and follow your visitors, and track how visitors navigate your website. This includes the languages spoken, browsers used, platforms, screen resolutions, location and technology features enabled in their browsers.

TubeMogul

TubeMogul is a free service that provides a single point for deploying uploads to the top video sharing site (ie. you can upload your videos to all major video sharing sites in one shot) and allows you to understand where, when and how often your videos are watched on sites including Google Video, MetaCafe, MySpace, Yahoo!, YouTube and more.

Userfly

Userfly lets you run instant usability studies for your website using your real users. You can watch movies of your users’ browsing sessions to analyze their behavior and optimize your forms, landing pages and conversion rates.

Woopra

Woopra is tool that gives your real-time information about live traffic on your website. Main features include: live tracking, rich interface, visitor tagging, instant messaging, real-time analytics, custom notifications and developer tools.

Crowd Science

Crowd Science collects data on the demographics and attitudes of website visitors by surveying a small number of randomly-selected visitors with standardized and topic-area-specific questionnaires. With the information you can then understand more about your visitors and better tailor your marketing efforts.

Link Voodoo

Link Voodoo offers a Quality Score Calculator, which helps you determine the strength and quality of a website before making the decision to obtain a link, and a Backlink Analyzer, which reports a sites backlinks with PageRank and Alexa Ranking.

SEORush

SEORush provides you with a free SEO report for your URL or a competitor’s URL. The report will return On Page SEO and Off Page SEO as well as social presence, indexed pages, validation, meta information, various ranks and standard domain information.

HowSociable?

HowSociable provides a simple way for you to measure your brand’s visibility on the social web (ie. YouTube, Facebook, Flickr, LinkedIn).

SERPRush

SERPRush allows you to check your search engine position in Google, Yahoo and MSN for the .COM and UK versions. The SERP tool will allow you to search the top 25 pages for each search engine.

Piwik

Piwik is a PHP/MySQL open source web analytics software. It provides you with detailed reports on your website visitor, including the search engines and keywords used, your popular pages and more. Because Piwik is installed on your own account, your web statistic data is stored on your own database and you can publish the data in many formats: xml, php, csv.
